The short version
This Privacy Policy explains how the Live Earth Map application — published on Google Play as "Live Earth Map & GPS Tracker" ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") — handles information when you use it. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Live Earth Map is a Maps & Navigation app for exploring the world in map and satellite view, an interactive sky map, saving locations and optional friend location sharing. It is for exploration and information only and is not intended for navigation, emergencies or precise positioning.
With your permission, the App accesses your device location (precise and/or approximate) to show your position on the map, let you save GPS spots, attach a place to a photo, and — only if you opt in — share your location with friends. Location is used while you are using the App; we ask for runtime consent before collecting it, and you can turn location off at any time in the App or in Android settings.
Sharing your location with friends is entirely optional and off by default. It works only when each person opts in, is transmitted through our service to the friends you choose while sharing is active, and stops when you turn it off. We do not track people without their consent, and the App must not be used to monitor anyone covertly.
If you use Capture Location, the App uses your camera and current location to attach GPS coordinates and an address to a photo you take; the photo is saved by you on your device.
Base maps, satellite imagery and place data are provided by a third-party map-data provider. Imagery is not a live video feed and may not be real-time.
Through the third-party SDKs below, the App processes standard mobile technical data such as device model, OS version, language and country, app version, coarse (IP-derived) region, app-instance identifiers, and the Google Advertising ID. This supports analytics, crash reporting and advertising.
The free app shows ads. Ad partners may process your Advertising ID, coarse IP-derived location, and ad-interaction events to deliver and measure ads. See Third-party SDKs and Your rights & choices.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond.

App analytics and crash reporting. Data processed: app-instance ID, device model, OS version, language, country, and anonymized in-app events.

Serves ads in the free app. Data processed: Google Advertising ID, coarse IP-derived location, and ad-interaction events. Personalized vs. non-personalized ads depend on the consent you give through the in-app UMP prompt.

Provides the base map, satellite imagery and place data. Data processed: the map areas and places you view and, to center the map, your approximate or precise location. Map and satellite imagery is not a live video feed and may not be real-time.

Because the App is ad-supported, the advertising partner named above receives the limited identifiers described in Section 4. Some laws (e.g. CCPA) may treat ad-related sharing as a "sale" or "sharing" — see Your rights & choices.
We share data as described here, with Google (Play, Firebase, AdMob), our map-data provider (to display maps and center them on your location), and — only when you opt in to friend sharing — the friends you choose (your shared location, via our service), plus authorities where required by law. We do not sell your location.
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to opt out of personalized advertising.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and it collects location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
The App is operated with infrastructure and partners that may process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, our partners rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We rely on Android's application sandbox and scoped storage to isolate App data, and our SDK partners use HTTPS/TLS in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, noted in the App or Google Play release notes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
